PIZZarea 10-6-10

I went to http://www.giordanos.com/menu.html and used the prices and sizing for their thick cheese pizzas. We had to find the are of each size, how many times more pizza, and the price per square inch of the three sizes.

Small is a 10 in diameter pizza, it costs $13.45- the area is 78.54 square inches
Medium is a 12 in diameter pizza, it costs $17.00- the area is 113.1 square inches
Large is a 14 in diameter pizza, it costs $19.25- the area is 153.94 square inches

The medium pizza gets you 1.44 times more pizza than the small. The large pizza gets you 1.36 times more pizza than the medium and 1.96 more pizza than the small.

The small pizza is $.17 per square inch. The medium pizza is $.15 per square inch. The large pizza is $.13 per square inch.

Our result are that the Large pizza gets you more pizza for your money. We found this by dividing the larger pizza by the smaller pizza. To get the price per cent we divided the price by the area. if you are getting pizza the larger one is cheaper. It is only 15 cents per square inch.

It is helpful to know how to find the area. It can help you save money. It can help you get the most for your money. If you didn't know how to find the area, you might end up buying something that would seem cheaper but really isn't. Area is also important because it could help you with your job in the future.
